EBRD and EU boost innovation in Egypt's food industry

Together with the European Union and backed by the Green Economy Financing Facility, the EBRD is helping Dough & More Food Industries (DAMFI) in Egypt to invest in energy-efficient baking methods.


By adopting a new combined cooling, heating and power system that reuses energy, the company is saving US$ 482,000 (€433,000) a year on its energy costs, while also improving the quality of its goods and boosting its growth potential. The new system has also helped reduce the company’s CO2 emissions by 4,962 tonnes per year.
